In Memory of Sgt. Bryan Goff
We are sad to report that Sgt. Bryan Goff, the City's police event coordinator, died on March 3, 2009. Sgt. Goff was an integral part of every festival,
organized run, parade and celebration in the City of Columbia. All proceeds from this year's walk will benefit Sgt. Goff's family
to help cover his enormous medical bills. Please help us show this local hero's
family how much we valued and appreciated his many years of service and commitment to making our city a better place to live and enjoy.
Make a Grand Entrance at St. Pat's
in Five Points!
All participants will receive a ticket to
the St. Pat’s in Five Points festival (a $15 value) and
the Official Race T-shirt. There will be cash awards for
top runners, cash prizes for the three Best Dressed
Leprechauns as well as awards for age group
winners!

Eggplant Events is making a commitment to
continue to reduce our impact on the environment!
What we are doing to GO GREEN:
- Using electronic
distribution, online magazines, websites and online
marketing which reduces paper and mailing
- Online applications and
registration which reduces paper and mailing
- Purchase reusable signage
which reduces paper and printing
- Recycling containers for
water bottles to reduce waste to landfill
- Bike Valet will be availale at 7 a.m. at the intersection of Blossom and Saluda
- Water bottle filling stations which will reduce waste to landfill
What you can do to GO GREEN:
- Register online at www.strictlyrunning.com to save paper
- Carpool to the event to reduce carbon emissions
- Bring your own water bottle (we will have places to refill your water bottle) to reduce landfill waste
We are continuing to find new ways to
make our event more eco-friendly so check for updates!

Pre-registration applications must be
postmarked by March 3, 2009. All mailed applications
must be postmarked by March 10, 2009. Race day
registration will take place 7:00-8:00 a.m. at the Start
line. Please note that T-shirts are
only guaranteed to pre-registered
participants.

Pick-up
New this year: Have your
packet mailed for $5 if you register by March 1.
Pick
up your packet or have it mailed before race day and
receive a garage parking pass.

the Start Line, Intersection of Blossom &
Santee
Course
The course will start at
Blossom St. and Santee St. and finish on Devine St. at
the festival entrance. Miles will be clearly marked on
the course. First Aid along with food and drinks will be
available at the Finish area. Garage parking is
available on Blossom Street and street parking is

5K Run is on the Grand Prix Tour and Tour de Columbia
and will be timed.
The course certification number
is: SC03026BS.
Awards
Cash awards will be
given in the following categories: top three overall men
and women ($100/$75/$50), first place Masters men and
women ($50). Awards will also be given for first,
second, and third place men and women finishers in the
following age groups; 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19,
20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,
60-64, 65-69, 70+. The top three winners of the Best
Dressed Leprechaun title will be awarded $100/$50/$25!
Celebrate at the Awards Ceremony that will take place at
approximately 10:00 a.m. at the stage on Santee Street
inside the festival gates!
